Peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital on Saturday, December 29, 2012 in her 87th year. Predeceased by her parents Dr. John and Nora Kane, and by her brother John. Survived by her cousins: Jane Kaduck (Ray) and Michael McDonell (Edythe) of Kingston, Norman Sherman (Paule) of Ottawa, Donald Kane (Eileen) Newton Center, Mass. and Alice Bookless (Tom), Stillwater Cove, NC and their families. A life long nurse and caregiver, who travelled the world and doted on her numerous 'nieces and nephews.' She was an ardent skier and hiker and a consummate volunteer. Friends will be received at the GORDON F. TOMPKINS FUNERAL HOMES, 49 Colborne Street (at Clergy St.), Kingston, ON, on Wednesday, January 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Cathedral, Johnson Street, on Thursday, January 3 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation will follow. For those wishing, donations to Hospice Kingston or St. Mary's Cathedral Restoration Fund would be appreciated by her family.
