Shirley Irene Little
Passed away peacefully, at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, on December 27th 2012 surrounded by her loved ones. Loving wife of Karl. Mom to Richard and Diane. Grandma to Dionne, Denine and Jake. Great Grandma to Shelby and Payton. Sadly missed by all. Predeceased by her daughter Sharon, granddaughter Jessica, her parents Roy and Pearl Brien, of Clifton NB. and her brother Ralph. Sadly missed by sister Phyllis, brothers George, Gordon, Royden and brother in law Leslie. Born in Clifton NB Shirley attended Macdonald Consolidated School and Teachers College. Shirley started her teaching career at Harvey Regional High School. Moving to Oakville she then continued her teaching career of many years at ST. MILDRED'S- LIGHTBOURN SCHOOL in Oakville, retiring in 1990. Shirley enjoyed retirement by travelling, volunteering at school, involvement at her church and playing bridge with her friends. But most of all spending time with her family. Shirley always had a great smile when meeting her friends: she will be sadly missed by many. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9p.m. on Thursday January 3, 2013 at the Oakview Funeral Home 56 Lakeshore Rd. W.(1 block east of Kerr St.). A Funeral Service will be held at 11a.m. Friday January 4th a t St. Cuthbert's Anglican Church 1541 Oakhill Dr. Oakville. Shirley's family would like to thank all the staff at OTMH for the wonderful care received. A donation to your favourite charity in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
