Susan passed away at home in Ottawa on December 22, 2012 at the age of 59. Beloved wife of John Bochnovic and mother of Sebastian Porteous- Bochnovic, loving daughter of the late John G. and Millicent Porteous, dear sister to John, Bunny, Peter, Samantha and the late Mark and Philip, and dear aunt to their children Christopher and Casey-Lee, dear half-sister to Timothy (Beatrice), Camilla and the late Jennifer, fondly remembered by their children Vanessa, Nicholas, Bart, Geoff and Katie, and dear sister-in-law to Mary and Anne, dear aunt to Nancy (Bruce), Susan (Tom) and the late Stephen, and dear great-aunt to Kim, Brad, Matthew and Craig. Susan was a person of remarkable talent whose education and working life spanned diverse fields such as medicine, the fine arts and law, before devoting herself exclusively to the needs of her 'two boys' as she so lovingly referred to her husband and son, for whom she was quite simply a great mother. Her life is warmly remembered by the immense love and compassion she bestowed on her family and friends, as well as the passionate concern she demonstrated for all those less fortunate. Her 'two boys', shattered by her premature passing, are determined to face the future with the kind of courage and strength which she so nobly represented. Friends and family may visit at the Outremont Chapel, Mount Royal Cemetery, 1297 Chemin de la ForÍt, Outremont, Québec on Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 11am -12 noon. Service to follow in the chapel at 12 noon. If desired, and in lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed to the Ottawa General Hospital Foundation (www.ohfoundation.ca) or the National Gallery of Canada (www.gallery.ca).
