Sept. 24, 1933 - Dec. 14, 2012
Died suddenly of heart failure following a short illness. Born Muriel Hallie Peake, 'Mooey' leaves her sister and dearest companion, Alice-Jean Mackay; beloved brother-in-law, Lothar Mauch; her loving children, Ross, Grant, Dorothy, Hamish; her grandchildren, whom she adored, Zhi, Hector, Leverich, Sidney, Hollis, Somerled, Lovage, Daisy; her nieces Jessie and Valerie, nephew Ian, numerous like-family friends, and all their children - each sharing in her boundless affection. Hallie's was a life of caring friendships, of exclamations, wonder, passion, discovery, and sometimes dread. She was curious. Throughout her life she provided a refuge for cats, dogs, and people - domesticated and feral. Hallie sought clarity, purpose, and meaning always. She gave love and attention, deeply. She traveled across many borders, shining brightly. A service will be held in Victoria in February. To receive details when they are available, email Ross Cameron at 'firstname.lastname@example.org'.In lieu of flowers, donations to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada are welcome.
