McKENZIE, Archie L.
Passed away at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Saturday December 15, 2012 at the age of 90. Archie retired in 1983 as General Manager of Tractor and Equipment Operations, a division of Ford Motor Co. of Canada, Ltd. Survived by his wife Grace, son James, and daughter-in-law Dianne of London, Ontario, daughter Nancy of Eden Mills, and grandson Andrew. Also survived by his brother Charles (Gerrie) of Sidney, British Columbia, Nephew David (Chris) of Burlington and niece Susan (Gary) of Toronto. Born in Toronto, Mr. McKenzie was a graduate of the Ontario Agriculture College, a naval person (WWII), a farmer, and an active citizen with community groups following retirement. In his time he was President and Chairman of The Canadian Farm and Industrial Equipment Institute, President of the Canadian 4H Foundation, and recipient of a Canada 125th Commemorative Medal and the Queen's Jubilee Medal of 2002. As an elder for many years in the United Church of Canada, Mr. McKenzie was also active at the Presbytery and Conference levels. He was an avid boater and particularly enjoyed his involvement in the Burlington Power and Sail Squadron. Cremation has taken place.
