BIRO, George
Erika, Peter and Michael sorrowfully announce the passing of our husband and father, on Friday, December 4th, 2012, in his 90th year, peacefully and at home. George was a Holocaust survivor who felt blessed to have arrived at Pier 21 to this 'best country in the world'. Dearly beloved husband of Erika for 53 years, honoured father of Peter (Camelia and Laura) and Michael (Crystal) and his treasured grandchildren, Jonathan and Benjamin, and Sophia, Jeremy and Hannah. Loved by his sister Edith Karass, of Montreal, and by his nephew, Larry, and his nieces, Audrey and Wendi. We would like to express our gratitude to Betty Rodriguez for her care. Services were held at Benjamin's Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Ave. W. at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 16th. Interment Beth Tzedec Congregation Section of Dawes Road Cemetery. Visit to our home, 15 Paddock Court, for three afternoons and evenings, ending on December 19th. No flowers, please. Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted for the Erika and George Biro Endowment Fund at The Baycrest Foundation, (416) 785-2875, www.baycrest.org/donations, or to a charity of your choice.
