WHITE, H. Brian
September 18, 1922 - December 8, 2012
It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Brian in Hudson, Quebec on Saturday at age 90. Brian was the beloved husband of Patricia (Pat) Ruth Paterson - a true love story for 66 years - and devoted father to Susan Patricia Petch (John), Robert Brian White (Lynne), Cathleen Ruth Bredt (Bill) and Elizabeth (Lee) Anne Nagy (Andy). He was cherished by his grandchildren Tricia (Brendan), Robbie, David (Amelie), Kelly, Evan, Alison, Andrew (Tory), Stephen, Kristin and great-grandchildren Liam, Riley, Charlie and Finley.
Brian was born and raised in Toronto. He attended North Toronto Collegiate and graduated from the University of Toronto (Engineering) in 1944. He was an internationally known transmission line engineer and worked and traveled throughout the world with Pat by his side. He was a keen sailor, skier and voracious reader. Brian was a principled man who lived his life with honesty, passion and charity. He always enjoyed sharing his talents and experience with others he met. He loved magic and he loved the magic of life. Pat and Brian built a wonderful life together in Hudson for over 59 years with friends in ports near and far.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Valleyfield Hospital and the Hudson Palliative Care Residence for their care and compassion. Special thanks to Drs. Welik, Eiley and Lachappelle and to our angels, Lynne Lemieux and Dilys White.
At Brian's request, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of Brian's life will be held at a later date. Smooth sailing, Dad. We love you, Grumps.
