R. Stuart Green
June 23, 1923 - December 7, 2012
Stuart Green's joy-filled presence will be deeply missed by his wife and life partner Joan; children Lyndsay (Hank), Bruce (Cheryl), and Jeff; and by his grandchildren Lauren, Andrea, Brandon, Christopher, Taylor, Max and Alexa; his brother-in-law Cecil Anderson; his nephew Don Anderson; and by his many friends, in particular, his second family at Rideau 2S of the Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre. Stuart was a civil engineer (McGill) and MBA (Harvard) who spent his career as a pioneer in the oil and gas industry. He was an avid skier and proud of his membership in the Camp Fortune ''Over 80 Club''. Born in New York City, his family moved to Montreal and when World War II began, he enlisted at age 19. His life of caring, commitment and service to others embodied the motto of his regiment, the 48th Highlanders: ''Dileas gu brath'' - faithful forever. He passed on his passion for seizing life's opportunities to his children and grandchildren, and we aspire to his charm and sense of humour. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre (Ottawa 2W), Ottawa K1G 5Z6.
