Donat (Don) Hamilton Hoskins
Born Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, August 10, 1932, to Edmond (Ted) Hamilton and Margaret Jane Hoskins (nee Christie). Died Monday, December 10, 2012, at 4:10 p.m. in the Ottawa General Hospital of pneumonia. Husband of Diane Isabel (nee Simpson); loving father of Christie Dawn (Michael Disley), Hunt Hamilton (Micheline Nehme) and Donata Diane (Robert Leuenberger); proud grandfather of Philip and Simon Leuenberger, doting Wai Gong of Isabella Xin Huan Disley, and dear brother to Jean Harkness (Ken) of Calgary. Common-law partner for 20 years of Margaret Ann Pearcy; good friend to Adrienne Pearcy McCallan (Michael) and fond ''Poppa'' of Declan and Isla McCallan.
Radio and television newsman, pioneering public relations professional, enterprising entrepreneur. Although he travelled the world he remained a Prairie boy at heart. Friend to many and ''thorn in the side'' to a few others, Don leaves behind a huge hole in our lives. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 in Le Salon at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa from 1 to 3 p.m.
