LaVerne Cameron 1919-2012
LaVerne Ann Cameron (nee Dumaresq) died peacefully on November 25 2012, the end of a long, productive and mostly very happy life, in Vancouver and Toronto. LaVerne was an exceptionally kind and generous wife and mother, and a dear friend of many. Her beloved husband Donald James (Jim) died in 1981. For many years in Toronto, LaVerne was the Director of Education for the Ontario Nursing Homes Association, now known as the OLTCA. She is survived by her four children, Don (Joanne), Bob (Jenny), Ann (Martin) and Joan (Rodger), and many appreciative grandchildren and great-grandchildren. LaVerne's family is very grateful for the high quality of care she received at the Lynn Valley Care Centre. The family will hold a memorial service in Toronto in the spring. In LaVerne's memory, charitable donations may be made to the Haiti Fund of the Sisters of St. Joseph, which LaVerne supported for many years.
