DA RE, Cipriano
Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, November 25, 2012, at the age of 88. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Helga, his son Daniel and daughter Adriana, their spouses Marilyn and Evangelos, and his beloved grandchildren Evan, Katerina, Christian, Sydney, Madeline and Natalie. Cipriano is also in the hearts and minds of all his family in his native Italy, especially his brother Angelo and sister Maria Rosa. Cipriano was passionate about his family and his career. He was a leader and a pioneer in the pre- stressed concrete industry working on dozens of signature projects such as Habitat 67, the National Gallery of Ottawa and the Palais des Congress de Montreal. His work allowed him to indulge in another passion, travel, which brought him to all inhabited continents - he loved learning about and had a profound respect for new cultures and peoples that he encountered. He was truly a world citizen. Cipriano was a dedicated humanitarian who committed his time and resources to community and charitable causes - the Friuli earthquake of 1976 was a call to action and he spent countless hours working on restoration efforts in the region which brought him recognition by both the Canadian and Italian governments. Cipriano was a great husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to many. He will be dearly missed. A special thanks to the staff and doctors at Hopital de Saint Eustache in Saint Eustache, Quebec and the Institut de Cardiologie de Montreal for their wonderful care and compassion. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Eglise de Sainte- Dorothee at 655 rue Principale in Laval, Quebec. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Hopital de Saint Eustache or the Institution de Cardiologie de Montreal. Online condolences may be placed at Yveslegare.com.
