Bob passed away peacefully after a festive celebration for his 85th birthday. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 63 years, Muriel (nee Wilson). Bob is predeceased by his brother Alfred and his sister Margaret, as well as by Muriel and Bob's only daughter, Mary Elizabeth. He was the father of John (Ann) of Belleville, Ont., Bruce (Lynda) of Reading, PA, David (Jane) of Belleville, Ont. and Charles (Kathy) of Ottawa, Ont. He was immensely proud of his ten grandchildren. Bob attended University of Toronto School. He joined the Navy in September 1944, graduating from the Royal Canadian Naval College at Royal Roads in 1946. Upon leaving the Navy, he joined his father and his brother in the family hat manufacturing business. He worked tirelessly in the community, serving as a Rotarian for more than 47 years, taking on the duties of Club president the Rotary Club of Belleville for the 1969-1970 period, the year of the Club's 50th anniversary.
