IAN RAMSEY CADDELL
(March 10,1949 - November 7, 2012)
Film critic for the Georgia Straight newspaper, the Editor of Reel West Magazine, commentator on film with an encyclopaedic knowledge of the industry and a fervent promoter of the Vancouver film scene. Born in Montreal, Ian moved to Vancouver in 1970. He graduated from Vancouver City College and Simon Fraser University, was the editor of the SFU ''Peak'' and president of the SFU alumni association. He was married to Carol Thorp, Dorothy Rusak and Nancy Muise. He is survived by his sons, Emmett MacNevin, Adam, Nathan, Tobin and Owen. He leaves his sister Susan, brothers Andrew and Graham, several nephews and nieces, close friend Anja Brown, and many friends. Thanks to the staff at VGH palliative care. A memorial service will be held at the VIFF Atrium in Vancouver on November 24.
