The Reverend Alfred Gordon Baker
1928 - 2012
It is with great sorrow we announce the death of Gordon on November 8, 2012 in Toronto, at the age of 84 years, with his loving family by his side. Dearly loved husband of Joan (nee Holland) for 60 years and devoted and proud father of Anne (Ron Foerster), Michael (Gillian Hamilton) and Margaret (Ted Clark). He cherished and delighted in his grandchildren Rebecca, Maddie, Christopher, Isaac and Alice. His children and grandchildren loved and respected him. Predeceased by his parents Douglas and Ivy Baker and by his brother Ian (2006). He is survived by his sisters-in-law Melissa Baker and Eleanor Gray, his brother- in-law Peter Outerbridge, family friend Joyce Barkhouse and many nieces and nephews. A graduate of University of Toronto and Wycliffe College, he was ordained a priest in 1954 and had a long and productive ministry in the Anglican Church. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His faith in God through Jesus Christ sustained him to the end. His good friend Canon Jennifer Reid will conduct a Memorial Service, on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11 am. at St. Peter's Erindale Anglican Church, 1745 Dundas St W, Mississauga (905-828-2095). For those who wish, memorial donations to The Anglican Foundation of Canada or The Primate's World Relief and Development Fund (both at 80 Hayden St. Toronto M4Y 3G2) would be appreciated. Flowers gratefully declined. 'May he Rest in Peace
and Rise in Glory'
