BION, Robert William
(Jan. 24 1929 - Nov. 7 2012)
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden death of our Dad, Robert in Toronto on November 7, 2012, after a short illness. He was 83. Robert was predeceased by his wife Sandy (nee Davidson) in March 2011. He is survived by his much loved daughters Elizabeth (Jeff Narver) of Vancouver and Margot (Timothy Mason) of Orlando, Florida and his granddaughters Grace, Gabriella and Scarlett Mason, and by his former wife Diana Savage of Calgary. We are grateful to Sandy's children, Chris Dingman and Eric Dingman for their generosity and kindness and also to Leaside Retirement Residence for their care and respect. Also to Diana, our mum, for her grace. Robert was born in Champaran, India in 1929. His father's family were early sugar planters in that country. He was schooled in England and came to Canada on his own, after his military service, to attend McGill University. After graduation Dad embarked upon a successful 40 year business career in the financial business in Montreal and Calgary. We were inspired by your spirit, entertained by your wit and forever grateful for the lives you gave us Dad. You will be missed but not forgotten. At Robert's request, no services will be held. Remember him when you look to the warm sun, at a zebra or when you raise your glass.
