ALMACK, Eleanor Dorothy
Died peacefully in her 93rd year, November 6, 2012, at her home in Leaside Retirement Residence. Dearly loved, devoted and cherished wife and lifelong companion of her late husband Albert Gordon 'Bert' Almack. Loving mother of David (Heather) and Sheila (Winston Smith), grandmother of Pamela (John Madill), Dave Peach, Karen (Darrell Haslam), Shawn and Brady (Jennifer Drake). Great-grandmother of Brenan, Joshua, Kayla, Maren, Declan and Mackenzie, also survived by her sister Betty McClelland and brother-in-law Lorne Almack and predeceased by her parents Anne and John Marshall and siblings Ida, Florence, Stella, Caleb, Duncan and William. Eleanor will long be remembered by family and friends as a talented pianist and devout church organist whose life focused around music, the United Church, family and friends. Eleanor and Bert enjoyed many trips to Prince Edward Island and to their summer cottage 'Beldale' at Tobermory. Memorial service to celebrate the life of Eleanor Almack will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Donway Covenant United Church, 230 The Donway West, Don Mills. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Eleanor Almack are requested to: The Salvation Army, 1645 Warden Avenue, Toronto, ON M1R 5B3.
