SAUVÉ, William

It is with deep sadness that we announce that Bill passed away peacefully, on November 4, 2012 in Lethbridge at the age of 83 years. Beloved husband of Honour for 53 years. Younger brother to Wilda Fonseca of Flushing N.Y. Loving father of Jim (Susan), Tony (Robin), Kevin, Jennifer (Jon), Tom (Yuko), John (Kimberley) and Edward (Aundrea). 'Dado' will be deeply missed by his extraordinary crew of 13 grandchildren: Freedom, Chance, Willow, Nicholas, Jay, Matthew, Thomas, Erin, Liam, Jeffrey, Charity, Sunny, and Talleyn. He is predeceased by his parents Arthur and Kathleen (nee Dillon) of Montreal, and by his brothers Donald (Barbara) of Montreal and Rev. Paul Sauvé of St. Anicet, Quebec. Bill was born in Toronto, and spent his formative years in the NDG neighborhood of Montreal. He attended Loyola College and McGill University, graduating as a mechanical engineer. After living and working in Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto, his career eventually brought the family to Sherwood Park in 1974, and then to Lethbridge in 1976, where they put down deep and lasting roots. Bill was a self- taught master carpenter and produced an astonishing array of fine furnishings. He was an active and passionate Catholic. 'Mr. Bill' took great interest and delight in welcoming new refugee and immigrant families to Southern Alberta, aiding them in getting settled to their new lives in a new country. He and Honour touched many families in a profound way with this outreach of a simple, helping hand. Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2012 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at ST. BASIL'S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 - 13 Street North, Lethbridge with Father Kevin Tumback celebrant. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bill's name to the Lethbridge Interfaith Food Bank, 1103 - 3 Avenue North, Lethbridge, AB T1H 0H7.
