HOCKIN, John Neil
Died on Friday, November 2, 2012 after a prolonged illness with brain cancer. He was born in Vancouver, September 21, 1942. John thrived on challenge and variety. He was a stage manager, writer, teacher, volunteer, runner, white water canoeist, camper, sea kayaker, skier, independent businessman, cryptic crossword enthusiast and traveller. Colleagues, friends and family have already missed his sense of humour, wit, optimism, zest for life, funny stories and corny jokes. He leaves his wife of 43 years, Marilou, his sister Mimi Hudson (Jim), brothers David (Harriet), Gordon (Ellen), nieces Rebecca, Amelia, Alexa and nephew Jamie. Our thanks go to Dr. Stephan Chris and to all the health care professionals we dealt with at Princess Margaret, CCAC, St. Joseph's and the E. W. Bickle Centre. Donations may be sent to Pueblito Canada, PO Box 15512 BRM B, Toronto, ON M7Y 2W1. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Morley Bedford Funeral Services, (416) 489-8733. A memorial event will take place soon.
