McPHERSON, David
1948-2012
David died suddenly in Montreal on September 16, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Fiona Key and devoted father of Catherine, and will be sorely missed. He will also be mourned by his cousin Hamish McPherson and his many friends. David had a wide range of interests; he had a career in his twenties as a journalist with the CBC and a producer for Ideas, and subsequently as a psychiatrist. He worked at the Montreal General Hospital for twenty-two years and afterwards in private practice. David took great pride in his Scottish heritage and his involvement with McGill. He was a good man, with a brilliant mind and a kind heart. Visitation will be held at Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Foret, Outremont on Sunday, September 23 from 2-4pm and from 6-8pm. The funeral service will be held at Mountainside United Church, 4000 the Boulevard, Westmount, at 11am on Monday, September 24. In lieu of flowers, donations to Saint Columba House would be appreciated, 2365 Grand Trunk, Montreal H3K 1N8.
