PALMER, George Craig
February 13, 1949- August14, 2012
George left this plane of existence after a courageous battle with heart disease. Survived by his soul mate of 43 years Jackie, sister in law Donna (Murray), brother Cameron (Jan) nieces Terra (Duane) and Kimberley (Simon) and Cousin Katherine and his loyal walking pal Stuart.
George touched the lives of many as a husband, brother, uncle, son, friend, mentor, father figure and business partner. His involvement in the newspaper industry for over 40 years, together with Jackie, garnered great pride and joy as they built Jackie Palmer Distributors, Purveyors of the Printed Word. The relationships formed here have become like that of a second family.
Philanthropy, travel, photography and golf were some of George's many passions, The Calgary Foundation, Variety Club and Heart to Heart were but a few. Another being the hospital visits where he talked to heart patients battling with some of the same issues he had overcome. George and Jackie traveled to many corners of world but Wasa Lake and the Motorhome became their homes away from home. Spiritual travel took George to Sedona Arizona where he met Shaman Clay to help find peace and guidance.
