BRICKLEY, James Montgomery
A true gentleman, passed away at the North Shore Hospice on August 14, 2012. Born September 20, 1930, Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife Mona in 2004, and his brothers Robert in 1945 and William in 1946. His loss is keenly felt by his long- time friend Elizabeth Kirkwood and her children Miles, Barbara and Karen and their families. Jim survived a yearlong hospitalization for tuberculosis as a young man, courted Mona while both were patients in Willow Crest Centre and went on to build a highly successful career in the investment business. He had an extensive knowledge and great appreciation for Canadian Art as did Mona as well. They were able to indulge their shared interests in music, art, and travel, often combining all three. Jim and Mona were both diagnosed with cancer 17 years ago, and both battled their disease fiercely. Won most battles but lost the war. Cremation and a simple private service duplicating that observed for Mona some 9 years ago will see them joined again. Gentleman Jim, we shall miss you.
