TRAVERS, Paul James
After a dignified struggle with Frontal Lobe Dementia, Paul passed away peacefully, on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the age of 78. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 35 years, Mary Lou (nee Hughes). Loving father of Pete Travers and his wife Rose, Jane Travers and her husband Kirk Tilley, and Marc Travers and his wife Monique Vanderjagt. Paul was very proud of his 6 grandchildren and loved them very much: Jeremy, Benji, Sydney, Rae, Sarah, and Jonathan. He will be dearly missed by his sister Virginia Hergott. Paul will also be fondly remembered by his wife Ingrid and the McGillivray family. He was predeceased by his brother Karl A. Travers. The family would like to thank the entire Travers, Hergott and Hughes families for their loving support over the years. PJ was a gifted athlete and enjoyed time at his cottage with his family and friends. He was very devoted to his Catholic faith and was a successful executive in the steel industry. Paul will be dearly missed by his family, friends and many colleagues. He is in a better place where memories are restored. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block North of City Hall), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 7:30 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Raphael's Roman Catholic Church, 4072 New Street, Burlington on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. If desired, donations to the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Ontario would be appreciated by the
