COMISH, Robert William
QC
With great sadness we announce the passing of Bob on August 8, 2012, 5 weeks after receiving a lung transplant He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years Carol (nee Whittington), his cherished children- Tammy (Greg) from Toronto; Troy (Debbie) from Thornbury and Randy (Jen) from Toronto. His 8 grandchildren who brought so much happiness into his life, Carter, Riley, Ella, Dax, Jaycee, Griffin, Brody and Robbie, will have many fond memories of Bob. He also is survived by his brother, who he admired so much, Don Comish (Sue) and many nieces and nephews. Bob was a partner at Smith Lyons (Gowlings) and enjoyed practicing law after graduating from Osgoode Hall. In 2000 he retired from law and started a new career as a consultant for destination resorts including Blue Mountain Village, Red Leaves and Friday Harbour. He served on many boards including Craigleith Ski Club, Crescent School, Mitsui Canada and the Blue Mountain Foundation. He loved to ski, tour the lake in his Dippy, play tennis and ride his bike. He travelled to many areas of the world but felt 'no place could match Muskoka'. Above all Bob had a great love for his family and we don't know how we will go on without him. The family would like to thank Dr. Mathew Binnie and the Toronto General Hospital Transplant Team for all the support and hope they gave Bob over the past four years. According to Bob's wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place at Craigleith Ski Club, Base Lodge, Blue Mountains on Friday August 17th from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Bob's memory to The Collingwood General & Marine Hospital, 459 Hume Street, Collingwood, Ontario L9Y 1W9
