PIJSELMAN (Pyselman), Simon Cornelis
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Sim, peacefully with his family by his side, on July 19th, 2012 in his 84th year. Sim was the beloved husband for 57 years of Greta Pijselman, dear father of Dr. Colette Pyselman (Peter), Guy Pyselman (Pat), Kim Pijselman (Kim), loving Opi to grandchildren Kyle, Melissa, Rochelle, Brandon, Austin and Mira, and dear brother of Bibi Pijselman of the Netherlands. Sim was born in Leeuwarden, Holland in 1929 and emigrated to Canada in 1950. Sim's career in the lumber business began in Toronto at the Home Lumber Company in 1957, where he rose to be the general manager. He subsequently moved on to become the vice-president of Reed Paper Limited and thereafter a partner in the Alpa Lumber Group of Toronto. He was still active in his later years as the co-owner of Cedarstone Homes Limited of Ottawa. Family and friends will be received at the Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, 8911 Woodbine Avenue, Markham (905-305-8508) on Tuesday July 24th from 2-4 and 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the Markham- Stouffville Hospital Intensive Care Unit would be appreciated.
