PEIRCE, Mary (Stewart) nee Holme

Born September 9, 1921 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Peirce, dear wife of The Venerable Frederick Peirce. Mary passed away Tuesday July 17, 2012 in Victoria, BC after a short illness. Mary was predeceased by her first husband, Bill Stewart in 1986. Mary will be dearly missed by family and a wide circle of friends. She is survived by her three sons and their families; Jim (Jinty), Andrew, Robin, and great- grandchildren, Claire and Maddie, Gord (Sandy), Will and Charlie and Dave (Cathy), Dana, Christine and Brett. Mary's grandchildren and great- grandchildren were her greatest joy throughout her life. Mary will also be fondly remembered by the Peirce children, Susan Joy and Christopher, and their children. Mary graduated in nursing from The Toronto General Hospital and in later life spent time teaching and leading school children at The Vancouver Museum of Anthropology and the Vancouver Aquarium. After 25 years of service at the Royal British Columbia Museum in Victoria, she was honoured as an emeritus volunteer docent. Her unfailing faith never left this gracious woman.A service will be held in Christ Church Cathedral in Victoria on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 2:00 pm with a reception to follow.
