Kenneth Barter
March 8th, 1929 - July 17th, 2012
Ken passed away on July 17th in Picton, Ontario, surrounded by his family. He was a man of many talents who worked as a lumberjack, fishing guide, dog breeder, lion tamer, entrepreneur and a big rig driver. He was born in Grand Cascapedia, Quebec among the mountains and salmon rivers of the Gaspé. Ken was happiest with a fishing rod in his hand, digging in the garden or traveling the world with Hanne, the love of his life, for almost 50 years of marriage. He lives on in his 4 children (Bettina, Anne Marie, Heidi, Bobby) and 7 grandchildren (Maximilian, Duncan, Maia, Julia, Hannah, Rachel, Jake). A celebration of Ken's life will take place on Saturday, July 21st from 3 -5pm at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens, 21 Garrard Road in Whitby. Donations to the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation or to the Alzheimer Society of Prince Edward County would be greatly appreciated.
