TALACKO, Emil
of Woodland Beach (Tiny) and of Toronto passed away unexpectedly at the Georgian Bay General Hospital Midland, on Saturday July 14th, 2012 in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Peg (Varah) Talacko, cherished father of Gillian Talacko and Allison (Justin French). Greatest grandfather ever to Amie, Marin and Quinn. Will be missed by his brother Tom (Helga) of Oakville, and by his sister Susan Talacko of Collingwood. Brother in law of Janet Donald (Chris Vroom) of LaChute (PQ) and the late Bob Varah and his wife Mary Ann. Uncle 'Emer' will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Chris Donald & Mark Talacko (God sons), Emily and Thomas Higgins, Paul and Jenny Varah, Tricia Flood and Darrin Pickett.
Emil was born in Prague, Czech Republic and lived through incredible events that shaped his character from a young age. He had a remarkable talent for relating to people in and out of the classroom. His gentle manner, kind and caring nature, and his infectious sense of humour touched the lives of the people with whom he came in contact. He was a mentor to many and derived great pleasure from listening to people and offering up sometimes unique but always invaluable advice.
Those who knew him well, also knew his many interests: a philatelist, a historian, a gardener, a golfer, an explorer, an enthusiast of the arts as well as a collector of great treasures big or small.
He was one of a kind, a keeper and will always be within us.
A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday August 8th at the Artscape Wychwood Barns at 76 Wychwood Avenue in Toronto from 6 -8:30 pm.
