CICCONE-BARKER, Maria (Mary)
It is with profound sadness our family announces the passing of Mary at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Frank Ciccone and late Professor Kent Barker. Loving mother and role model of Francesca Babister (Eric), and Frank Ciccone (Rose). Fun-loving gram of Michele (Mark), and Tara. Dear sister of Gene Madeo (Shirley) and late Rose Mirabelli and Helen LaVine. Auntie Mary will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Born in Calabria, Italy August 5, 1921, Mary came to Canada at an early age. She was the dynamic owner of Ciccone's Restaurant on King St. for over 50 years, always making her customers feel at home. Mary will be remembered for her warm vibrant personality, which she bestowed freely upon everyone that knew her. Her sense of humour, great laugh, generous personality and famous pickles will never be forgotten. Of all the wonderful things mom taught us, she did not teach us how to live without her. Friends may call to celebrate Mary's life at the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves.) on Thursday June 28, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. Online condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca.
