JAY MACPHERSON
June 13, 1931 - March 21, 2012
Died very suddenly, after a long- undetected illness. Jay was a professor at Victoria College in the University of Toronto for 37 years. She brought a keen eye and true feeling for language to both academic and poetic endeavours, and joyfully composed songs of political protest right until the end. She was a much-beloved teacher and colleague. Most importantly, no one could have asked for a better friend or aunt. Ten thousand thousand
precious gifts
My daily thanks employ;
Nor is the least a cheerful heart
That tastes those gifts with joy
