PADY, Walter James
In his 78th year, died tragically in an automobile accident on Monday, August 9th, on the occasion of his 11th Wedding Anniversary. Walter is survived by his beloved wife, Jane (nee Evans); his children, Michelle, Angus, Ian and Bryan (Heather); his stepsons, Jacques (Sue) and Palmer (Melissa); his siblings Eleanor, Jack (Audrey) and David (Sandra); his grandchildren, Dennis, Marsha, Devon, Alex and Owen; and his step-grandchildren, Corson and Carly.During his long and active life, Walter made an enormous contribution to the equine world. For 25 years he was a Master of Toronto and North York Hunt; a member of Canada's first Olympic Equestrian Team; the volunteer Chair of the Canadian Olympic Jumping Team; CEO of the Royal Winter Fair; Canadian representative to the Masters of Fox Hounds Association of America; and, in recent years, a member of the Eglinton and Caledon Hunt, and an Honorary Whip of the Pond Hill Beagles. In his business career, Walter was President of F.M.H. Ltd. and Algonquin Marine Grew Boats Ltd.A Private Family Service will be held. A celebration of Walter's life will take place in September. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice Dufferin.
