RENE BRUNELLE René Brunelle passed away on 2010-04-14 in Magog, Québec. Beloved husband of Andrée (Hébert), cherished father of Louis, Suzanne, Ke lly and Pierre, and his grandchildren Chloé, Tessa and Christopher, his nieces Mariel O`Neil (Pier re Karch) and Nola Br unelle. Mr. Brunelle was born on Jan. 22, 1920 in Penetanguishene, Ontario. He graduated from the University of Ottawa Normal School in 1940 and taught school in Northern Ontario. In 1942 he joined the Canadian Army and served as an Infantry Officer in France and Belgium from 1943 to 1945 till the end of the war. He was provincial Member of Cochrane North for 23 consecutive years from 1958 to his retirement in 1981. During his years at Queen's Park, he held several portfolios such as Minister of Lands and Fo rests, Mines, Social and Community Services. The René Brunelle Provincial Park, Rémi Lake, Moonbeam, Ontario, was established shortly af ter his retirement from politics. Funeral ser vices will be held in St. Patrick Church, Magog, Quebec on 2010-04-19 at 10:00 AM.
