Following an accident, Bob passed away peacefully in his 86th year at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre on Saturday, January 2, 2010. Beloved husband of Elizabeth ''Betty'' (nee Dreisinger). Much loved father of Gord (Connie), Shirley and Barb (Dave Mann). Cherished Grandpa of Jen, Leanna and Charlotte. Dear brother of Dorothy Hunter. Predeceased by his brothers Fred and John. He will be sadly missed by his many friends, nieces and nephews. Bob enjoyed a 23 year long retirement, many hours of which were happily spent on the golf course with Betty and his friends in both Toronto and Florida. Previously, Bob worked for Maclean Hunter for 44 years. He began his career in the mail room at 17 years old and worked his way up the corporate ladder to Vice President of the Business Publications Division. Bob also served as a Director of Maclean Hunter from 1969 to 1986. Among Bob's many accomplishments, the Medical Post was his brainchild. It is still in publication today and began as a result of his research and business plan back in 1965. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 8th, 2010 from 1 to 2 p.m. Memorial service at 2 p.m. Reception to follow. All will take place at Thornhill Golf and Country Club, 7994 Yonge St., Thornhill, south of Highway 407.
