Peacefully, surrounded by his family on the morning of November 13th, 2009, he passed away at the age of 82.
Mort is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Shirley (Borden), and his children Jay (Toby); Karen (Howard) Conter; Leonard (Marcy), and grandchildren: Mathew, Shira, and Hailey; Adam and Jenna; Bonnie, Hillary, Talia and Jillian, and his brother Joseph (Betty-Rae) of Toronto.
Predeceased by his parents Harry and Ethel Abramsky, and his sister Bernice Zubata. He was a much loved Uncle, Great Uncle and Cousin.
Mort will be remembered for his warmth, friendship, generous support for charitable causes, selflessness and love of the Kingston community. With a big heart, great sense of humour and resounding laugh, Mort brought comfort and light to everyone he touched.
Funeral Service will be held at Beth Israel Synagogue, 116 Centre Street, Kingston, on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations in Mort's memory may be made to: Beth Israel Congregation of Kingston, Kingston General Hospital Auxiliary, or the Rotary Club of Kingston.
