CAMPBELL, Mary Sussex (Baye) nee McKay
At the age of 92, in Oakville, Ontario on Friday, October 30, 2009. Beloved wife of the late Brigadier - General Duncan Carlyle Campbell for 60 years until his death in 2001. Survived by her daughter Marcia Elizabeth Ball, her husband Christopher James and granddaughters Cynthia Carlyle and Victoria Elizabeth Ball. Born in Camrose, Alberta, Mary moved to Calgary in her teen years, with her mother Amertha and brother John after the death of her father. She graduated from Mount Royal College and then University of Alberta in 1938. Mary and Duncan met at university and married in 1941 in Truro, Nova Scotia, before Duncan sailed overseas to fight in WW II. Mary returned to Calgary, where she was a radio broadcaster. After the war, they moved to Montreal, where Duncan joined Alcan Aluminium Ltd., and they spent over 50 wonderful years there, before moving to Toronto in 1997, to be near Marcia and her family. Mary had many special memories of her friends and time in Town of Mount Royal, Montreal, Royal Montreal Golf Club, where she became ladies' president; summer holidays at the Atlantic House in Scarborough Beach, Maine and winter holidays in Puerto Rico. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter ''Yorke'' Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., Toronto, at Windermere, on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Private Service to be held.
