DONALD GORDON CRAIG 1952 ­ 2009 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Donald Gordon Craig on Wednesday, July 8th 2009. With his family by his side, Donald passed away peacefully at Toronto General Hospital as a result of complications from heart surgery. Donald is the beloved husband of Marilyn; devoted and loving father of David of Burlington and Donna and her husband Brandon Gilbert of London. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Christine Craig of Toronto; mother and father-in-law Ruth and Bill Moore of Ottawa; brother Jim; sister Peggy and her husband John Poulter; aunt Dorothy Craig and sister-in-law Louise, her husband Gary Maffett and their daughter Elizabeth. He was predeceased by his father Gordon Craig in 2003. Don was a well known and respected member of the business and volunteer community. He joined Deloitte, Haskins and Sells, now Deloitte & Touche, in 1974 and was admitted to partnership in 1983. He was past president of the Canadian Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) and KitchenerWaterloo Oktober fest. He was named Kitchener-Waterloo Citizen of the Year in 1994. Friends are invited to share their memories of Don with his family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Don's life will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 1:30 p.m., at Knox Presbyterian Church, 50 Erb Street West, Waterloo, with Hon. Rev. Walter McLean officiating. Condolences for the family and donations in lieu of flowers to St. Mary's Regional Cardiac Care Centre would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and may be arranged through the funeral home, www.erbgood.com or 519.745.8445. In living memory of Don, a donation to the Trees for Learning Program will be made by the funeral home. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for Donald at Toronto General Hospital, St. Mary's General Hospital and Grand River Hospital.
