Gloom settles over small-business owners
The credit crunch has taken a heavy toll on small-business confidence in Canada, with the high cost of credit or the lack of access to financing cited by 27 per cent of members of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business.
“In some cases, it's the lack of access to credit, in others it's the price of credit,” CFIB chief economist Ted Mallett said Wednesday in releasing a report on businesses conditions for small and mid-sized enterprises.
