Yamaha hits sour note, eyes restructuring

HAMAMATSU, Japan — Yamaha Corp. may pull out of some businesses as the global economic slowdown forces it to restructure and rewrite its growth strategy, the head of the world's largest musical instruments maker said. President Mitsuru Umemura also told Reuters in an interview he was expecting a weak set of numbers when the company announces its first-half results later this month and warned it may need to cut its full-year outlook.
