UniCredit profit slumps as bank woes continue

PARIS/MILAN — The financial crisis took a further toll on two major European banks on Wednesday, as French Natixis SA admitted falling investment banking revenue while Italy's UniCredit posted a sharp drop in quarterly net profit. Elsewhere Barclays Plc, one of Britain's biggest banks, faces a possible shareholder revolt over its planned £7-billion ($10.8-billion U.S.) capital raising, newspapers reported.
