‘Significant risk' of global recession, Snow says

OTTAWA — The calamity unfolding on Wall Street has put at risk an unprecedented period of international economic growth, and policy makers must stand ready to stave off a global recession, former U.S. treasury secretary John Snow said. Fallout from the sudden demise this week of two of the world's biggest investment banks, combined with the struggle by American International Group Inc.
