Westport inks joint venture with Weichai
Natural gas engine maker Westport Innovations Inc. is accelerating its push into China through a joint venture with the booming Asian nation's largest heavy-duty engine manufacturer and another partner.
The Vancouver company has already helped equip about 3,500 buses with low-emission engines in pollution-plagued Beijing in the past five or six years as the city seeks to clean up for next month's summer Olympics.
