Wal-Mart Canada rolls out expansion plan

Wal-Mart Canada Corp., which will open its 300th store in Canada this spring, has announced plans for up to 27 new real estate projects by the end of January, 2009. Half of these projects will involve the building of new stores – with almost all of those classified as “supercentres,” which sell a full range of groceries in addition to general merchandise. The rest will involve the expansion or relocation of existing stores, the giant retailer announced Thursday.
