IPOs at lowest in more than decade, report says

TORONTO — The value of newly listed stocks on Canadian equity markets fell 50 per cent in the first quarter of 2008 to the lowest in more than 10 years, according to a survey by PricewaterhouseCoopers. Initial public offerings during the period totalled $148-million, compared with IPOs totalling $300-million in the first quarter of 2007, as a host of negative factors dragged on markets and the overall economy.
