Barrick CEO takes medical leave; Munk steps in

Barrick Gold Corp.'s 80-year-old chairman and founder Peter Munk stepped in to the top executive role at the world's largest gold company yesterday after a serious medical condition forced chief executive officer Greg Wilkins to take a leave of absence. The Toronto company did not disclose the nature of Mr. Wilkins' illness.
