CHICAGO — Conrad Black's fate is scheduled to be placed today into the hands of 12 jurors who will decide once and for all whether he is a crook.After three months of hearing testimony from 50 witnesses, reviewing hundreds of documents and listening to more than a dozen lawyers, a jury consisting largely of middle-aged women is set to begin deliberations.
The stakes could not be higher for Lord Black.
