Canadian inflation heats up
The country's inflation rate accelerated more than expected to 2.3 per cent last month, dampening the odds of lower interest rates.
The consumer price index quickened in March from a 2-per-cent rate in February as Canadians paid more at the pumps, Statistics Canada said Thursday. Higher home and fresh vegetable costs also contributed to last month's increase.
