Rail workers strike ruled legal
A strike by 2,800 Canadian National Railway Co. workers was ruled legal by the Canada Industrial Relations Board on Monday night, meaning that picket lines will remain up.
"It's an excellent victory," said Glenn King, Ontario legislative chairman for the United Transportation Union, which represents conductors and yard-service employees. "It's a legal strike in accordance with Canada Labour Code, which is what we've always maintained. I'm going to have a cold beer.
