MDA gets Boeing contract for Space Station

MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. said yesterday its Montreal operation has won a $21-million (U.S.) contract from Boeing Co. to supply communication technology for the International Space Station. MDA said it will provide two spare sets of communication subsystems providing voice and data links between the station and the ground. MDA (TSX) gained $1.21 or 3 per cent to $40.45 - still down from $53 a year ago and from $47 in April before the federal government said it would squelch the proposed $1.3-billion sale of MDA's space technology division to U.S. munitions maker Alliant Techsystems Inc.
