Ecuador seizure roils EnCana's China deal
EnCana Corp. has been hit with a claim from a Chinese oil consortium that wants compensation for losses at an oil concession seized by the Ecuador government.This past week, Ecuador took over energy assets in that country managed by U.S. giant Occidental Petroleum Corp. Those assets include a 40-per-cent economic interest in an oil field concession that was sold by EnCana to the Chinese group, Andes Petroleum Co.
