Insurers lead a slow pack in stock-picking contest

Insurance companies are leading the pack at the first-quarter turn in the slowest start yet to our annual My One and Only stock-picking contest.Sharon Ranson, runner-up in our 2002 contest, picked Sun Life Financial Corp. (SLF-TSX), which has gained 4.6 per cent this quarter on a total-return (dividends reinvested) basis.
