For on-line brokers, returning investors mean good business

I f it seems like the good old days on the stock markets right now, just take a look at what's doing in the on-line brokerage business.As the major stock indexes have climbed this year, so have trading volumes at some of the country's biggest on-line brokers. Some say they're busier today than they have been since the markets peaked in 2000. "Things have really started to pick up in the past two months," said Tom Flanagan, president of BMO InvestorLine. "There's a different mood in the market, and retail customers are starting to come back in."
